Training
Serenity Stables offers a unique, eclectic approach to the training of the horse. First and formost, all training is based on the Principles of Horse Training as developed by Daniel Nummer. The Principles are an approach to the psychology of the horse. The foundation of everything we do is the recognition that the horse's mind comes first. Secondly, all riding and driving training is based solidly in the classical principles of balance, bitting, relaxation and confidence.

Our eclecticism is found in the variety of breeds and disciplines that we work with. While we train for riding (several seats) and driving we also specialize in High School horses, both in hand and under saddle. Daniel also has a long history of working with gaited horses and can easily differentiate between a fox trot, rack and corto. In addition, Daniel has started countless horses under saddle and helped many problem horses become functional horses and pleasurable companions.

While we work with a variety of breeds, the Iberian horse and the American Saddlebred dominate our training routine. We have recently had the great pleasure of showing Andalusians and look forward to many years with this captivating breed and the excellent people that they own.

Above and beyond all is our commitment to the well-being of the horse and bringing out their highest potential. We believe that every horse has innate talents. When put in an environment that provides not only for top physical condition but also builds confidence and a joy of work, every horse can become a star.
